The project is in cooperation with a youth centre, local immigrant youth and handicapped people. The aim is to get to know different dancing styles together with a professional dancer.
You are invited to bring with you good ideas and a lot of motivation. Apart from this we will also make a little bit of construction work.. The work itself will start on Monday 11th of July.
We will work together with local youth groups and local volunteers. Moreover, you will work with handicapped people. We want to offer them the possibility to get to know people form all over the world. In this way we want to set an example of integration.
At the end of the camp we will organize a party for the final presentation of the different dance performances. The free time program consists of different creative workshops e.g. painting-, music and recycling workshops) in the afternoon.

Description of project: Styria is one of the most interesting touristic destinations for Austrians as well as foreigners. With its rich traditions and beautiful landscape of mountains and meadows it has seduced its visitors with its beauty to come again and again! The region of Feldbach is known for its hotsprings and a paradise for sports and wellness buffs. Homepage: http://www.steiermark.com/en/
Work: The hiking paths in this region are usually marked with ‘Bildstöcke’ which are stone or wooden boards erected in dedication and gratitude to famous people from this region. The volunteers will work together with the local youth and disadvantaged people from the ‘Lebenshilfe Joblos-Gnas’ on restoration of these boards. The second half of the camp, the group will organise the youth summer festival for the local youth. Freetime: There is big choice of possibilities in sports offered in this area. Cycling and hiking.

We will renovate a part of the “Augarten”, a famous public park located in the second district of Vienna. The work will start on Monday 1st of August and will end the 18th of August.
We will work five days a week, approximately six hours a day. The group with also have the chance to work with a professional artist on a sculpture of wood.Apart from our work, the volunteers can participate in different creative workshops (e.g. theatre-, painting-, music and recycling workshops).
We will work together with local youth groups. Moreover, you will work with handicapped people. We want to offer them the possibility to get to know people form all over the world. In this way we want to set an example of integration.
During the weekends, we will plan different activities to get to know the city of Vienna and a little bit of Austria.
At the end of the workcamp we will try to organize a party with the official inauguration of the park – you will have the chance to as well work on the design of the festival.

Title of project: No boundaries
Description of project: Styria is one of the most interesting touristic destinations for Austrians as well as foreigners. With its rich traditions and beautiful landscape of mountains and meadows it has seduced its visitors with its beauty to come again and again! The region of Aigen is known for its wine culture; a paradise for wine lovers and lies near the boundary of Austria to Slowenia. Homepage: http://www.steiermark.com/en/
Work: The volunteers will work together with the local youth and disadvantaged people from the ‘Lebenshilfe Radkersburg’ on awareness campaigns for Enviroment along the border area to Slowenia. The second half of the camp, the objective is together with the Austrian and the Slowenian youth to conduct a survey of this border area of the witnesses of the second world war who have seen the disasters of the boundaries drawn here after the second world war. This year 2005, there will be a memorial festival taking place in this region. At the end of this camp, the results of the survey will be displayed in this festival.

Title of project: Finstergruen ‘05
Description of project: The castle "Burg Finstergrün" ("castle darkgreen") is a youth hostel nowadays of the Austrian Protestant Youth Organisation, located in the Southern Salzburg state, in the middle of the Alps. It is providing basic accommodation mostly for groups of children and young people, but other visitors (regardless of the religion) are welcome too. Burg Finstergrün is open from the end of april to the middle of october.

Task is to renovate a part of the castle. and also in the surroundings are some things to
rebuild e.g. the tent place. You should not be afraid to use tools and it is also useful if you have already worked with machines for e.g. gardening.

Accommodation : All volunteers live in the castle and also get their food from there; surrounding meadows for leisure time.

Remarks: don’t expect urban life - pls be aware that the place is in a remote area; at the castle you get all you need, but in a circle of some 50 kms you find only mountains and narrow valleys with villages and some small old towns! Motivation Letter
